How a MINI sat nav update works
MINI is part of the BMW Group, and MINIs with factory navigation use BMW Group navigation units. Updating the maps works the same way as on a BMW: you need the map files for your unit and an FSC activation code (or FSC file on newer units) generated for your VIN.

Which MINIs can be updated?
Many MINI models with factory navigation can be updated, including:

Is there a free MINI sat nav update?
Newer MINIs with over-the-air updates may receive map updates for a period from new; check the MINI app or ask a MINI retailer. Older MINIs need the map files plus a paid FSC activation code, as free downloads alone will not unlock the maps.
Which map does my MINI need?
